I am sure by now you know that we have released first beta version of our wordpress plugin – wp-hover.

If you are not aware already –

wp-hover allows wordpress bloggers to add great dynamic content in matter of seconds. Just install the plugin from your admin dashboard and you are ready to add content to your blog post.

While creating  /editing the blog post, just click on blue ‘V’ button that appears on the TinyMCE editor and select hoverlets of your choice, linking it to keywords of your choice as well.

Coming back to the new hoverlet additions – here is a rundown on new hoverlets that have been recently added to wp-hover plugin.

• Crunchbase Hoverlet – Choose any company name and point crunchbase hoverlet, you will see information of that company display inside the hoverlet. The data is picked up from Crunchbase company directory.
• Pubs Info – This hoverlet is build for party enthusiasts and entertainment bloggers – If you want to display nearby Pubs in a particular area, use this hoverlet.
• Flickr Photo – Flickr Photo search . Link any word to it and it will search photos from Flickr and show the images
• Picasa Photo – Picasa Photo search . Link any word to it and it will search photos from Picasa and show the images.
• Wordpress related news – Choose any keyword / Phrase and this hoverlet will display the latest posts from all wordpress.com blogs.
• Google Maps – Point any city / state / Country name to this hoverlet and related map will be shown.
• Price Info hoverlet – You MUST have this hoverlet if you are a product / Gadget blog. This hoverlet pulls up price information for any product that is linked to it.
• Safari Book -  A simple hoverlet that shows related books for the words that linked to the hoverlet
• Twitter Search – This hoverlet will show the latest tweets related to hover linked keyword. Great for twitter enthusiasts
• Twitter profile – Proudly display your twitter profile using this hoverlet.
• Zemanta Artciles – Related Zemanta Articles
• NYTimes Articles – Relates New York Times Articles
• Blinkx Video – Displays related videos from Blinkx Video
• YouTube Video – Displays related videos from YouTube Video
• AOL Video – Displays related videos from AOL Video

And these are not all, we are adding new hoverlets to wp-hover on daily basis, so go ahead and install wp-hover on your blog. Let your visitors be surprised with great dynamic content you will serve.

With hover.in publishers can create Dynamic Hoverlet, which is a powerful and time saving concept.

What is Dynamic Hoverlet?

Simply put, a Dynamic hoverlet is a single hoverlet that will dynamically change depending on the word that is hovered.

We have created a short video to explain this concept.

Hope this video helped you in understanding the concept of dynamic hoverlets. We will shortly release a pdf tutorial giving you step by step processes to create dynamic hoverlets.

Okay, if you do not know “hoverlets” are – here is the definition.

hoverlets can be termed as hovering widgets that appear as a non intrusive overlay window when the visitors hover over a hoverlink.

Getting your site hoverized

Once the publisher account is activated from our side, a code is given to the publisher, that has to be inserted in the template of the webpage.

You will find the script on the dashboard as soon as you log in. Please ensure that the code is inserted in the footer of your page just before the </body> tag.

To start creating hoverlets click on hoverlet tab and then “new hoverlet”

• Step 1 – Name your hoverlet and add brief description. This is important, as these hoverlets can be saved for public consumption as well in our community directory (I will talk about it later). Once done click on “add” .

• Step 2 – You will have to choose content now. There will be 2 buttons that will appear. “Rich text” and “html”. If you want to have formatted text or an image, you should click on rich text. Rich text editor will allow you standard text/ image formatting options. Incase of “html”, you can choose to insert any kind of code inside it. You can go ahead and even write a dynamic rich applications, or you could choose to insert any embed code like youtube movies, slideshare presentations, flickr etc. etc.    

• Step 3 – You can dress up your hoverlet here. The “event” drop-down menu will allow you to specify whether a hoverlet should appear on-hover or on-click. You can also choose one of the various themes that are available  to blend them with your site from the theme menu . Publishers can also customize what kind of link style they prefer…whether dotted or a single underline. They can also choose the colors. The height and width of the hoverlet can be changed by simply entering the respective values in pixels !

Any change that you make in step 2 & 3 will immediately show in the preview on the right hand side.

Once you are happy with the way your hoverlet looks, just click save hoverlet. There you go you have just completed making your first hoverlet.

Now you will have to attach keywords to the hoverlets.

In the “view” tab you will be shown all the hoverlets that have been created. Click on the add keywords button and start adding which ever keywords you want. One hoverlet can be displayed for multiple keywords.

Once you have added your keywords, go and grab a cup of coffee. Your site will start showing hoverlets incrementally over 24 to 48 hours !
